Create your Definition of Done

After understanding the importance of the Definition of Done, a common dilemma is how do we get started. This is a useful exercise to run with your team to create your Definition of Done and to obtain the transparency of what your current definition of done is and the gap between this meaning valuable and usable. In software development, this would mean releasable.

Check out the blog post “Definition of Done – Where to Start?” for more info.

The next step is gradually bringing some of those missing activities into your Definition of Done to give you a higher quality product, faster feedback loops, and increased predictability. This could be the challenging part.

Need help exploring how to meet those challenges?

Our APS-SD course explores some of the possible technical practices and supportive DevOps tools to improve a team’s capabilities to meet this challenge when building software products.
