Course Details Questions:

Both our in-person and virtual course formats are dynamic and interactive, steering clear of the typical ‘death by PowerPoint’ experience. The in-person sessions foster spontaneous discussions and hands-on activities, creating an environment of active participation. Meanwhile, our virtual format translates this engaging interaction into the digital realm. Regardless of your choice, the quality, participant feedback, and assessment outcomes remain consistently high across both formats.

Ultimately, it’s about your personal preference: whether you thrive in the direct, face-to-face interaction of in-person training or prefer the flexibility and convenience of virtual learning, you’ll receive the same comprehensive and engaging experience in our course

Our courses generally start at 09:00 and finish at 17:00 UK time each day. However, we recommend checking the specific details of each individual course for any variations in timings.

Our courses are intentionally kept small to guarantee a premium learning experience. In instances where a course exceeds 10 attendees, we ensure the quality is maintained by having a second trainer in our classes

Begin with the essential reading of the Scrum Guide. While this is the primary preparation, enhancing your understanding with additional resources can help you get more out of the two-day course, although it’s not essential:

Our Blog: Delve into our blog for practical insights. Key reads include “What is a Scrum Master?” and “Agile and Scrum: Unravelling the Misconceptions.”

Extended Learning: Explore a variety of learning formats at Scrum.org’s Resources, including blogs, articles, videos, and podcasts. These resources offer a deeper dive into Scrum concepts and practices.

These additional readings and resources are optional but can significantly enhance your understanding and experience during our course.

When you choose us for your Scrum training, you’re in good hands with our team of certified Professional Scrum Trainers (PSTs), accredited by Scrum.org. Our PST trainers have gone through a rigorous certification process, which includes interviews, knowledge validation, training, peer reviews, and more.

By training with us, you’re learning from instructors who not only have theoretical expertise but also real-world experience. They are dedicated to helping you tackle the challenges of applying Scrum in practice. You can explore more about the PST certification journey at Scrum.org

The course provides comprehensive access to expert tuition, including two attempts at the PSM I Assessment and a 40% discount on the PSM II. You’ll benefit from Scrum.org courseware, additional resources, and links. The PSM I certification is achieved through an online, unproctored assessment, which you can complete at your convenience after the course. Additionally, enjoy a loyalty discount with b-agile, offering a 10% reduction on all future course bookings.

Your full attendance is essential for recognition in our course.

We know that sometimes emergencies can’t be helped, so we ask you to keep the course days clear in your schedule as much as possible. Our trainers have the final say if you miss some time, and generally, being away for more than an hour might mean you can’t be accredited. But don’t worry too much – if this happens, we’ve thought of a compassionate alternative. You won’t receive a refund or assessment codes, but we’ll gladly welcome you into a future class at no extra cost. Please remember, we can’t cover any costs that come up due to rescheduling, but we’re here to support your educational journey in every way we can!

Course Content Questions:

The PSM I certification is achieved by taking an online PSM I assessment, which is not proctored and can be completed at your convenience following the course.

This assessment can be taken from any location using an internet-connected computer, offering you the flexibility to schedule it according to your own timeline.

The PSM course is ideal for those aiming to become Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, or consultants, and anyone involved in product delivery using Scrum. It’s also beneficial for those supporting Scrum Teams and seeking a deeper understanding of Scrum, including when and why to use Scrum.

Yes, the PSM course is highly suitable for both beginners and those with prior knowledge of Scrum. It delivers a comprehensive understanding of Scrum principles and practices, emphasising the accountabilities within the Scrum framework. This course is perfect for beginners who are seeking a solid foundation in Scrum, as well as for those aiming to refine or enhance their existing Scrum knowledge.

For beginners who prefer a more interactive and experiential learning approach, the Applying Professional Scrum (APS) course is another excellent choice. APS provides an in-depth introduction to Scrum, focusing on hands-on, practical applications.

For a more detailed comparison and to help determine which course might be better suited to your needs, please refer to our FAQ section under ‘Which is More Beneficial: APS or PSM?'”

The Applying Professional Scrum (APS) course is designed for hands-on learning, focusing on the practical application of Scrum in real-world scenarios. Participants in APS actively engage with the Scrum Framework, applying its principles directly through interactive exercises. This approach is ideal for those seeking to understand Scrum’s practical implementation and its dynamic operation within teams.

In contrast, the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course delves deeper into the theoretical aspects of Scrum, with a specific focus on the Scrum Master role. It explores the responsibilities and intricacies of this role in detail, making it well-suited for individuals aiming to specialize as Scrum Masters.

Both the APS and PSM courses offer two attempts at the PSM I assessment. While each course provides the essential knowledge to pass, PSM delves deeper into Scrum Accountabilities. Choose the course that best aligns with your learning objectives.

Summary:

PSM – focuses specifically on the Scrum Master role, delving into its responsibilities and the theoretical aspects of Scrum. It’s ideal for those who aim to master the Scrum Master role.

APS – offers a wider perspective, emphasizing the practical application of Scrum within teams. It’s beneficial for learners who want to experience Scrum in action and understand its broader application.

PSM (Professional Scrum Master) from Scrum.org and CSM (Certified Scrum Master) from Scrum Alliance are esteemed Agile certifications with some distinct differences:

Exam and Certification Process: PSM offers a lifetime certification with no renewal fees and is known for its challenging exam. In contrast, CSM requires renewal every two years and involves a multiple-choice exam following a mandatory 2-day training.

Training Requirements: For PSM, formal training is not mandatory, allowing for flexibility in preparation, including self-study options. CSM certification, however, mandates attending a certified training course.

Focus and Depth of Knowledge: PSM emphasizes a profound understanding of Scrum principles and practices, catering to those who seek a deep, practical grasp of Scrum. CSM tends to focus more on the facilitative role of the Scrum Master.

Practical Application: The PSM exam covers a variety of question types, assessing practical application and theoretical knowledge, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of Scrum in diverse scenarios.

PSM is globally acknowledged for its rigorous examination and comprehensive curriculum. It’s a lifelong credential, emphasising a deep understanding of Scrum.
